Life for some started with nothing in their pockets but ambitious dreams.
“God has really blessed me. God has blessed my work. There are moments when I was broke at the beginning of my work, but who is not broke anyway in the beginning? You are not supposed to be rich. Wealth is compound interest, and when you are in your twenties, it is okay to be broke. Even at 25, it is okay to be broke at 30, find yourself, though, at some point. Learn the discipline to see something through until you see the fruits,” he said.
Bien recalled how, in the beginning, he and his former bandmates would split the money four ways after performances.
How much does Bien earn?
The artiste noted that at one point, splitting the money did not make sense, and they opened an account.
After opening the account, it made sense for them to receive the money as a salary.
“In the beginning, we used to split the money backstage. We would get paid something and split it four ways. And then we opened a bank account in Industrial Area, and then we started putting our money in our account, and we used to split it four ways, but then we added a fifth member, which is Sauti Sol the account. At some point, the money we made did not make sense, so we split it four ways. So we salaried ourselves, and we were on a salary for a while.
After a while, when Sauti Sol grew as a brand and business entity, they hired a board to manage the finances.
Bien revealed that he gets quarterly earnings from Sauti Sol despite not performing together for three years.

The business also pays for his health insurance.
“Then now our band and our business holdings have a board, and now we have a board that manages Sauti Sol. Actually, it’s so funny that I still get quarterly payments from Sauti Sol, the business entity, to date. We haven’t sung together in like three years. I am still salaried by Sauti Sol. It pays my health insurance, just my bills. It has taken care of us, and our fans have taken care of us. Inalipa hadi wa leo,” he added.
He did not reveal just how much he earns.
Did Bien’s mum gush over his music?
