What happened to Victor Kimani?
Kimani’s family from Ngarariga, Limuru, in Kiambu, was excited after taking their Grade Nine son for circumcision, one of the most important milestones for a boy in their culture, but sadly, he died while healing.
Young Kimani had just been circumcised, and two men were tasked with taking care of him until he recovered, as well as imparting some wisdom to him.
According to his family members, they woke one morning to prepare tea for the initiate, but were told that the trio did not need it at the time, and the same was said when the family attempted to offer them some water to bathe.
Later, the caregivers took off, leaving the body of the teen inside the house. It took the family a lot of effort, including breaking down the door, to find his lifeless body.
According to autopsy results, the young man was overfed, and the food went to the wrong side. He was also beaten black and blue, with bruises on parts of his body.
According to the bruises, the brave boy fought back hard before he went down at the hands of his tormentors.

How is the family coping with grief over Kimani?
At the mortuary, the family of Kimani arrived early to pick up his body for burial, and as soon as his mother viewed the body, she broke down crying in immense pain.
Other mourners rushed over to hold her as she was almost collapsing, and they also had to do the same for another woman who was overwhelmed before she had even viewed the body.
Other mourners viewed the body with various degrees of pain, but one thing was evident: the family had been hit below the belt by the senseless killing.

Tears as mum body of son in Nakuru
