According to Njoroge, the attacks intensified following the November 27 by-elections in which Gachagua lost the Mbeere North MP seat.

Njoroge said she was exhausted by the toxic and petty exchanges among bloggers aligned to both leaders in Mt. Kenya, describing the behaviour as politically suicidal.
“I am honestly exhausted. Instead of building a united front and shaping the opposition agenda, some of us are busy trading insults and manufacturing supremacy wars. This is political sabotage, which will end in premium tears. What we are witnessing on these social media streets is not the spirit of a winning team. It is the behaviour of a lost team that has forgotten the real enemy, the real battles, and the real goal,” she said.
She condemned the attacks, noting they were largely driven by the pursuit of likes and comments, with perpetrators forgetting the opposition’s main role—to challenge the excesses and failures of the current administration.
Njoroge reminded them that 2027 is still far off, no positions have been decided for the principals, and there is no need for infighting.

She warned that a divided and toxic coalition would not be able to defeat President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who are consolidating resources and crafting compelling narratives in Mt. Kenya.
“This infighting is driven by self-interest, ego, and shortsightedness. We are not anywhere close to elections, and we are certainly not anywhere close to winning them. No positions are on the table, and no one is being considered for some lucrative placement. So what exactly is fueling this hunger to destroy each other?” she posed.
The strategist urged supporters of both Matiang’i and Gachagua to remain united and called on opposition principals to rein in bloggers sowing discord, warning that continued recklessness would push away those working to build credible opposition narratives.
“If this recklessness continues, those of us who have been working tirelessly to build a credible, united opposition narrative on social media and beyond will simply step back and let those who are obsessed with internal wars continue fighting among themselves,” she stated.
What did Matiang’i, Pauline Njoroge discuss?

He emphasised that he had not hired any bloggers and criticised individuals who claimed to support him while attacking fellow opposition leaders.
“You must keep calling out those bloggers who are creating discord in the opposition. They are clearly pushing someone else’s agenda, and no one should pretend to support me while fighting my colleagues in the opposition,” he said.
Matiang’i said such actions painted a divisive picture and reiterated his rejection of politics based on insults, recalling an incident where he stopped an MCA from disparaging another leader.
