The impact crushed parts of the vehicle beneath him. Detectives later confirmed that Festus had checked into the apartment on November 28 in the company of two people, Lilian Moraa Mbeki and Patrick Jagongo, both of whom were arrested after the incident.
Inside the apartment, investigators found the room in a disturbed state, suggesting a struggle or confrontation shortly before the fall.
Lilian was in one of the bedrooms and appeared intoxicated when police arrived. Officers also recovered Festus’ clothes and identification documents scattered across the space.
How did Festus meet Lilian before his death?
According to preliminary findings, Festus and Lilian met earlier this year on the dating platform Tinder and had kept in close contact since then.
Lilian, who holds Kenyan and Costa Rican citizenship, has been making frequent trips to Kenya to meet him.
Visitor logs show that several other guests accessed the apartment in the days leading up to the tragedy.

Detectives say Lilian told them she had been drinking with Festus and Patrick on the night of his death, before leaving the two men in the living room and going to sleep.
That sequence of events is now at the center of the investigation, as officers work to determine whether Festus fell from the balcony or whether he was pushed.
Suspects arrested in the case of man who fell from 14th floor
Both suspects were arrested on Sunday, with Lilian picked from the apartment and Patrick traced to Kahawa West.
A Kibera court granted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) 14 days to detain and interrogate them further as they piece together Festus’ final movements.
Toxicology samples have also been collected to establish whether alcohol or other substances influenced the events of that night.
The investigation remains active, and detectives are urging anyone with useful information to come forward as they work to uncover what really happened before Festus Lee Oromo’s fatal plunge.
