What are the safety measures during heavy rainfall?

In a previous incident, the Kenya Met issued an advisory that was set to assist Kenyans in the regions set to experience heavy downpour.

The first measure was that residents should ensure that they do not drive in moving water, stating that it would put their lives in danger.

Secondly, residents were advised against standing under trees, near grills or windows, or in moving water to minimise the risk of being struck by lightning.

The advisory was issued to reduce the number of victims affected by the anticipated heavy rainfall.
