A video showing the fallen actor Bilal Wanjau alongside Kimani Mbugua has surfaced.

The journalist, who worked with leading media houses, died on October 15, months after returning to rehab amid ongoing struggles with his mental health.
Mbugua had previously opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and sought treatment after publicly sharing his challenges. Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, who had assisted him in accessing rehabilitation services, confirmed the tragic news.

Following Bilal’s death on Thursday, December 4, a video of the two of them in the studio resurfaced. In 2019, Kimani worked for Citizen TV and hosted Bilal for an interview on the Day Break show.

Kimani looked sharp in a suit, while Bilal was casually dressed, hosting the show for Willis Raburu, who was unwell.
“I know you don’t know that I know you. You are a great actor. I started seeing you way back in 2010. How are you doing?” he asked him.
Bilal then introduced himself and said that his breakthrough came in 2009 when he promoted the Utahama Lini advert. It showed a young man whose mother wanted him out of her house.
Bilal said that his first performance was on the show Wash and Set, where he was to do a five-second celebration for a goal.
“The lighting guy saw me, told me he loved my expressions, and got my number. From there, I got other gigs.”
Kimani disclosed that while in high school, Bilal performed the Utengano and Kido Kisimani set books at his school.
“It is a nice platform for an actor to be moulded. When people ask for opportunities, I recommend they act in set books. Most actors have passed through it.”
Bilal explained that performing set books is challenging since actors must stick to the script, using the exact words. Kimani praised Bilal for his acting, wondering how long it would take to memorise the lines.
“I was once called for a show on Wednesday, and it aired on Friday. I found that I had seven scenes and monologues. I got my lines and performed the show effortlessly,” Bilal said.

In other news, a resurfaced clip showed Sandra Dacha and Bilal chatting at a weight-loss clinic, where Bilal, dressed casually and using a walking stick, later received an injection while laughing.
Dacha welcomed him to the programme and urged other men to pursue healthier habits.
In the comments, Kenyans wished Bilal well on his journey and praised Sandra’s noticeable transformation.
