Why Betty Bayo’s mum wants her body exhumed

During a TikTok Live with TikToker Shiru wa Oakland, the US-based mum narrated details of her daughter’s last moments on earth before she died. Joyce Wairimu claimed her daughter suffered in her marriage before her untimely death.

Wairimu painfully recalled their last conversation, claiming that Bayo had asked her why she had left her alone in Kenya.

During the Live, Wairimu demanded an urgent postmortem to establish the exact cause of her daughter’s death, saying the family needs clarity and answers.

Wairumu, who is planning to return to Kenya, appeared to disapprove of the earlier report that Bayo succumbed to cancer, demanding an autopsy be done.

“A post‑mortem needs to be done because my child cried to me, asking why and who I left her with. I also need my documents and everything that belonged to Betty. For example, why is my ID still there? What are they doing with it? The burial permit, why does he have it? Even the name on it needs to be changed. He refused to attend meetings where I could have told him this. Those kids need to leave. If it is possible for it to happen today, I would like those kids out of there. Everyone should tell Kanyari that is what I have said. They can be taken to Wanjiku,” she said during the live.
