Manchester City recorded the biggest win, beating a resilient Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park on Sunday to keep the pressure on Arsenal.

Erling Haaland scored a double, with Phil Foden adding another to cut Arsenal’s lead to two points again

Arsenal themselves laboured to a 2-1 win over bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening. Wolves scored all the goals, including Yerson Mosquera’s goal in stoppage time, to win the game for Arsenal.

It was a lethargic performance from the Gunners, given that Wolves have struggled all season, prompting a heated reaction from Mikel Arteta after the game.

“It was a relief, but a very clear understanding that the margin should have been bigger. After not being precise enough in the first half with the number of situations that we generated inside the opposition box, and we didn’t pick the right colour of shirt on so many occasions, we had an overload to do that,” he said via the club’s website.

Aston Villa have also immersed themselves in the title race conversation after winning nine games in a row, the latest a comeback win over West Ham United.

Opta makes EPL title predictions

Arsenal’s chances have now dropped to below 70% but they are still Opta’s favourite to go ahead and clinch the title next year. Arteta’s side have been given a 69.04% with Pep Guardiola’s team in second place with 22.94%.

“Everything we did is really fantastic, but it’s done. Now, we must rest, we must prepare after Wednesday, the next match on Sunday, against Manchester United at home, and enjoy the way. Enjoy each match, enjoy each competition,” said Emery via Villa TV.
