What happened to Alecks Bett?
During the memorial service shared by Gotabgaa International, Bett, of Fort Worth, Texas (USA), was described as a cherished brother, devoted husband, loving father, and dear friend.
“His kindness and vibrant spirit touched many; his life journey is a powerful testimony of perseverance and purpose,” said the organisation.
It has emerged that, from Kaptagat Camp in Chepkero, Alecks dared to dream beyond circumstances.
Through determination and discipline, he earned a full scholarship to Union College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science.
“He later built a distinguished career in the IT field, working with Citi and most recently Oracle—a reflection of his brilliance, dedication, and work ethic,” said Gotabgaa International.
“Yet, despite his professional accomplishments, Alecks remained grounded. He never forgot his roots or outgrew his community. He remained kind, approachable, and deeply invested in the lives of those around him,” said the Kenyans.
Additionally, the departed soul was described as humorous, with a calm spirit and thoughtful. These attributes made people feel seen, heard, and valued.
“Today, as we remember Alecks on what would have been his 40th birthday, our hearts ache with the reality that his life ended far too soon,” read the Gotabgaa International.
“But even in our sorrow, we give thanks to God for the gift of his life, the memories we shared, and for the legacy he leaves behind—especially in his children, who carry his name, his love, and his light,” they shared.
