DJ Katta has joined residents of Huruma, Nairobi, in paying tribute to OJ and Warner, two brothers shot dead by police in Nairobi’s CBD.

DJ Katta had publicly mourned the deaths of the two, who were felled on Tuesday, 9 December 2025.
The incident unfolded near the busy junction of Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue when plainclothes officers responded to reports of a robbery in progress.

Police opened fire almost immediately, killing Warner and OJ while the remaining three fled the scene, triggering an ongoing manhunt.
On Thursday, December 11, Katta shared a nostalgic photograph of the two brothers relaxing together with drinks and khat, reflecting on the happier times they had shared in Huruma.

He fondly remembered how they had regularly attended and supported his early DJ performances, emphasising that he would choose to recall the laughter and camaraderie rather than pass judgment on their later choices.
Expressing deep sympathy for their grieving mother, he acknowledged the unimaginable pain of losing two sons from the same family in one tragic moment. He prayed for strength and comfort during this devastating period.
Katta used the occasion to highlight broader societal issues, pointing out that many young people feel neglected and lack access to opportunities, pushing them towards dangerous paths.
While firmly stating that crime ultimately leads nowhere, he urged the youth to make better life choices and seek positive alternatives for their future.
