They shouted out at him, seemingly in a bid to get more attention. However, the vehicle sped off, followed by another SUV with a bull bar.
The second SUV, a Land Cruiser Prado carrying his security detail, then pulled up alongside the excited group.
The second SUV, which had a bull bar, drove closer to the motorist in what appeared to be a protective move in case the vehicle swerved towards Uhuru.
The video elicited mixed reactions on social media, with some Kenyans remembering the former president’s shortcomings.
Why did Uhuru’s video divide Kenyans?
Among them was political activist Morara Kebaso, who wondered whether the excited Kenyans were aware of the impact Uhuru’s leadership had on the country’s economy.
“They have no idea what happened to our economy since 2013. These are voters—remember that,” he wrote.

Previously, another clip showing Uhuru cruising through traffic resurfaced online, stirring mixed reactions among Kenyans.
The undated video captured him seated in a similar V8 Toyota Land Cruiser, accompanied by a strong security convoy, as he travelled along a road in Utawala.
The footage emerged shortly after Uhuru reappeared publicly following weeks of silence, during which he attended high-level meetings in Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
While some viewers praised his calm presence and security detail, others revisited debates about his leadership record, with critics questioning his legacy and economic decisions made during his time in office.
