Mombasa – The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has shared information regarding the arrest of two murder suspects in Kisauni.

In a statement on Saturday, December 20, the DCI announced the arrest of suspects linked to the brutal murder of Stephen Opello.
“Kisauni Sub-County detectives have arrested two individuals connected to the brutal murder of Stephen Opello, which occurred on November 22, 2025, in Chembani, Mtopanga,” DCI said.

Detectives disclosed that Julius Otieno Mageta and Mohammed Omar Hamisi were flushed out of the hideout following a crucial tip-off from members of the public.
“The suspects, Julius Otieno Mageta, aka Junior, and his accomplice, Mohammed Omar Hamisi, aka Babu, were flushed out of their hideout and arrested, thanks to a crucial tip-off from members of the public.
According to the DCI, the suspects assaulted Opello on November 22, leaving him critically injured.
The victim was rushed to Coast General Hospital by good Samaritans, but sadly, he passed away while receiving treatment.
“The duo viciously assaulted Opello, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Coast General Hospital by good Samaritans, clinging to life, but the injuries proved fatal. He succumbed while receiving treatment. The suspects are in custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment,” the statement read.
How detectives arrested murder suspect in Eastleigh
In related news, detectives drawn from Dandora and Shaurimoyo conducted a security operation in Eastleigh.
During the operation on Sunday, December 21, detectives arrested Peter Kimani, aka Kim, along the busy Gallole Street.
DCI disclosed that detectives recovered a Retay Falcon pistol with a live 9mm hollow-point round and a spent cartridge.
During the well-coordinated operation, detectives also impounded a red Boxer motorcycle suspected to have been stolen by the suspect.
