Chemutai Mogher, a young woman born and raised in rural Kenya, achieved this remarkable feat using her Kenyan passport, defying all odds with the same document often seen as limiting to global mobility.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke Chemutai excitedly narrated how traversing every corner of the globe was a dream come true.

“I was born in Kenya, Africa, educated in Denmark and Sweden in Europe, and I now work in Boston, USA, as a Senior Quality Auditor at a global biotechnology company. These experiences have shaped me into what I proudly call a Pan-African, a global nomad, and an Afro-optimist,” she said.

Chemutai revealed that she challenged herself about 100 days ago to finish all seven continents using her Kenyan passport.

Her goal was to finish her travels to all continents by the end of 2025.

Chemutai’s experience travelling to Antarctica

On December 10, 2025, Chemutai began her long voyage to Antarctica, which began with a flight from Boston to Argentina, then flew and then flew south to Ushuaia.

“Antarctica is not owned by any country, no one permanently lives there, yet as a Kenyan, I still needed a visa to enter Argentina to reach a continent that itself requires none. The contrast is not lost on me,” she said.

She then traversed to Antarctica by crossing the unpredictable Drake Passage. She spent 12 days in the icy continent before returning home by Christmas Day.
