Climax Coaches has broken its silence on the tragic crash of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.

Jirongo died December 13 after his Mercedes Benz was crushed by a speeding Busia-bound Climax bus that was ferrying passengers from Nairobi.
The accident sparked reactions and speculation, with some quarters alleging foul play in it.
So grave were the conspiracy theories that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) instituted a thorough probe into the accident.

Where did Climax passengers go after crash that killed Jirongo?
Questions abounded about the whereabouts of the passengers of the bus, as none had ever came out to give their account of things.
The bus driver was the only one who explained how the accident occurred.
It now emerges that the passengers of the bus didn’t stay long at the scene.
According to the company, the passengers were picked up from the scene by an empty bus coming from Western Kenya, continuing their journey.
Meanwhile, the passenger manifest produced by Climax Coaches indicated that had with 46 having their details captured in the manifest.
This quashed the account of the driver who had earlier said that he was carrying 67 people.
Will Climax driver face charges after accident that killed Jirongo
The driver, Turus Kamau, is still under investigation, with his last appearance before the police on December 22.
The driver is currently out on bail while investigations continue; according to the DCI, he could face charges of causing death by dangerous driving if evidence establishes his responsibility.
How CCTV footage captured Cyrus Jirongo’s last moments
Elsewhere, the DCI issued the details of the footage sourced from the surveillance cameras at Eagol Petrol Station in Naivasha, where Jirongo spent less than two minutes before the crash that claimed his life.

According to the DCI, Jirongo’s Mercedes-Benz was struck by the Climax bus shortly after 2:19 am, with the collision pushing his car roughly 25 metres and leaving the bus stopped about 50 metres from the scene.
Investigators from Nairobi collected key evidence, including CCTV recordings that trace Jirongo’s movements.
The footage shows him arriving at 2:18:40 am from Nairobi, pausing briefly at the station without refueling, stopping near the exit at 2:19:10 am, and turning back toward Nairobi at 2:19:19 am, only for the bus to crash into his vehicle six seconds later.
He died instantly from severe injuries, among them fractured legs.
