Kapseret legislator Oscar Sudi has kept his end of the bargain after promising to build a house for the mum of an employee who died earlier this year.

Sudi has pledged support to Peninah Manyara, the mother of Dwayne Mungai, a Timba XO nightclub employee who died in January 2025.
The Eldoret-based club announced the loss of the staff member, describing him as a valued colleague and friend, and extended condolences to his family.
What did Sudi promise Dwayne Mungai’s mum?
During Dwayne’s burial, Sudi committed to building a three-bedroom house for the bereaved mother to improve her living conditions.
He also noted that she had previously struggled to sustain a small clothing business and had relied on her son for support.
To assist her financially, Sudi donated KSh 400,000, saying the gesture was meant to ease her hardship and offer comfort after her loss.
On Friday, December 26, Sudi shared a video of him handing over the house to Mungai’s mum.
“Dwayne worked for me faithfully. Every day I went to the workplace he would update me on the progress. However, he died because he had medical issues.
When burying him, I was informed that the mum lives in Langa in not-so-ideal conditions. I decided to build a house so she can harvest the fruits of his labour.”

Sudi said that he would hand out four more houses that he has built.

“The value of each house and land is KSh 7.5 million,” he said.
He then urged Dwayne’s mother to interact with the neighbours in a bid to get to know them.
“We will collaborate and live like neighbours.”
The video showed the neatly finished white house with a brown roof and veranda at the entrance. The compound was even fenced off.

Dwane’s mother got emotional after receiving the house, and shed tears of joy.
He captioned the video:
“Dwayne was a skilled IT professional who worked for us.
I decided to gift the mother the house in honour of her late son. His energy, diligence, and commitment to uplifting his community left a lasting impact, and this gift is a small tribute to his legacy.”
