Veteran actor Kiefer Sutherland was taken into custody on Monday, January 12, following an alleged physical confrontation with a ride-share driver in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

Officers responded around 12:15 am to reports of an assault.
An investigation revealed that Sutherland, 59, entered the ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats toward the victim, LAPD officials stated.
The driver did not suffer injuries requiring medical attention at the scene.

Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats and booked into jail. He was released later that morning after posting a KSh 6.5 million bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, February 2.
