Renowned media personality Maureen Waititu has opened up about a recent near-death experience following a frightening road accident.

On Saturday, January 17, Maureen was involved in a scary crash that left her shaken.

What happened to Maureen Waititu?

Taking to her Instagram pages, she shared a detailed account of how what began as a normal routine day quickly took a drastic turn.

She explained that she had left her house for a routine trip to the supermarket to buy groceries when the accident occurred.

According to Maureen, she had ‘parked poorly’, a mistake that resulted in the crash, and she was rushed to the emergency room for medical attention.

“I thank God for sparing me. My Lexi prayed for our safe journey this morning, and I know God heard his prayer. Thank you, Jesus,” she wrote, referring to her son having watched over her.

The media personality also shared a video showing the aftermath of the incident. The footage captured her white Nissan Tiida parked on the kerb in the middle of a two-way highway, with its front bumper badly damaged.

Additional clips taken from inside the car showed that the driver’s airbag had deployed, indicating the impact was serious. A breakdown Land Rover was later seen towing the vehicle away from the scene.

However, Maureen escaped with minor injuries to her left foot.

She also expressed dissatisfaction with the response time of first responders at the scene.

“As for Kenyan emergency response, cops and these road closures that they do so poorly? That’s a story for another day. I’ll take a few days to recuperate. Kindly bear with me,” she added.

Was Mr Seed involved in a road accident?

In other news, gospel singer Mr Seed recently recounted a frightening road accident he was involved in on New Year’s night.

Photos from the scene showed his Toyota Mark X badly damaged, with one wheel wrecked and the rear bumper torn off.

Witnesses at the scene cited poor road conditions and claimed the other driver appeared intoxicated.
