A woman identified as Rachel Bloor is still shaken after a frightening and surreal encounter with a snake in her own bed.

Rachel was jolted awake in the middle of the night by a heavy weight pressing down on her chest. Still half asleep and not immediately alarmed, she assumed her dog had simply curled up on top of her and reached out to stroke him.
Instead of the familiar warmth of fur, the Australian woman found herself touching something smooth and slowly moving.
Believing it was still her dog, she gently pulled what she thought was his body up towards her neck, until her partner switched on the bedside lamp.

Did Rachel Bloor free herself from the snake?
The reality was instantly clear. BBC reports that her partner calmly told Rachel not to move, explaining that a 2.5-metre python was resting on her chest.
“I thought if my Dalmatian realises that there’s a snake there, it’s going to be carnage,” she said, recalling how she cursed and briefly panicked at the sight.
Her husband quickly removed the dog from the room, while Rachel carefully began easing herself away from the snake.
“I was just trying to shimmy out from under the covers, thinking, ‘Is this really happening? This is so bizarre,’” she said.
According to Rachel, the non-venomous python had entered the bedroom through the shutters on the window.
Once she managed to free herself, she gently guided the snake back towards the window, assuming that was how it had come in.
“It was so big that even though it had been curled up on me, part of its tail was still outside the shutter. I grabbed him, and even then he didn’t seem overly freaked out. He just sort of wobbled in my hand,” Rachel explained.
She added that staying calm was crucial to managing the situation, noting that her composure appeared to keep the snake calm as well.

Where did Australian famly find venomous snake?
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that a snake had slithered into the bedroom of a home, leaving the family in shock after they found it napping on the bed.
The unwelcome guest was an eastern brown snake, reportedly the world’s second most venomous land snake.
The Australian family immediately contacted an animal rescue service to help with the safe removal of the reptile.
