Destiny Boy, whose real name is Afeez Adeshina, passed away on Sunday, January 18. Popular journalist Temilola Sobola shared details of the singer’s death.
How did singer Destiny Boy die?
The fast-rising singer made headlines in 2024 after he welcomed his first child at the age of 20 with his lover.
“Singer Destiny Boy has passed away. May his soul Rest In Peace🕊️,” Sobola wrote.
According to reports, Destiny Boy vomited blood repeatedly before he died, but the cause of his death is yet to be revealed.
The 22-year-old was known for several club bangers, including Ebokolorfar, Tomorrow, Billion Dollar, Never Give Up, and Time is Money, among others.

Somali singer Hodan Africa drowns in Indian Ocean
In another story, Somali singer Hodan Aden, known as Hodan Africa, died in a boat accident near Mayotte in early November 2025.
The singer’s dreams carried her far from home, but her search for a better life ended in tragedy. Hodan and her younger daughter died after a boat they were on capsized in Mayotte, a French-administered island in the Indian Ocean.
Hodan and her daughter were among over 15 people who were on the vessel carrying Somali immigrants. Only one of the passengers survived the tragedy.
The talented musician had been living in Nairobi, where she performed at Somali events.
