Bobi, 43, went into hiding after the military officers raided and took over his home, leaving his family under house arrest.

He was accused of attempts to destabilise the nation following the tense elections.

Does Bobi long to reunite with his family?

Speaking during an interview with Al Jazeera posted on Tuesday, January 20, Bobi, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi, confessed that he missed his family and longed to reunite with them.

“I am alive, but I do not know how my family is. I would love to be in my home. I have not changed my clothes in days. I want to be home; I want to take care of my family and people, but the police have taken over my home,” Bobi, who wore a black hoodie, said.

In a post on his Facebook page, Bobi claimed that the military blocked food from reaching his family and cut the padlocks on their gates, replacing them with chains.

“We demand that the military vacate our home immediately. My wife and people are not safe. They’re starving after these criminals blocked food from reaching them. They cut the padlocks of our gates and replaced them with chains. Free Uganda now,” he demanded.

According to the politician, the government’s actions are aimed at intimidating, silencing, and completely subduing the forces of change.

Were Ugandan elections rigged?

Wine also maintained that the polls in which President Yoweri Museveni retained the presidency with over seven million votes were rigged.

He claimed the electoral commission officials were recorded pre-ticking ballots in favour of the 81-year-old politician, currently serving his seventh term.

“We have videos of them,” he stated.

He urged Ugandans to protest the election results either on the streets or at their homes through creative ways to fuel their pursuit of change.

Is Muhoozi planning to kill Bobi Wine?

Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Museveni and chief of defense forces, revealed that the government had killed 22 NUP members in the past week and expressed hope that Bobi will be the 23rd victim.

Muhoozi stated that all the NUP ‘foot soldiers’ would be killed on sight unless Museveni ordered otherwise.

He urged Bobi to surrender to the police or be treated as a rebel. Despite the threats, the opposition leader maintained that he would resurface at the right time.

Did Madowo, Muhoozi ‘fight’ over call to kill Bobi?

Meanwhile, the threats to eliminate Bobi irked many Ugandans and Kenyans, including CNN correspondent Larry Madowo.

In a fiery exchange, Madowo reported about Muhoozi’s intention to kill and extinguish the NUP party, prompting the general to dare him to mention his name while also laying serious allegations against the journalist’s character.
