Muhoozi, long viewed as outspoken and reckless by critics, the military chief’s latest remarks have once again highlighted his controversial public persona.
The army commander has repeatedly used social media to comment on sensitive national and regional issues, often drawing diplomatic and political backlash.
How did Muhoozi threaten Bobi Wine?
In his latest remarks, he called for the killing of opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, and members of his National Unity Platform (NUP) party in the tense aftermath of the 2026 General Election.
Muhoozi, who is also President Yoweri Museveni’s son, returned to X with a barrage of violent remarks days after Museveni was declared the winner of the highly contested poll.
His posts, which quickly went viral, drew condemnation from users who described them as reckless, dangerous and unbecoming of a senior military officer.
In one of the posts that triggered the strongest backlash, Muhoozi appeared to boast about deaths linked to security operations.
“Personally, I’m embarrassed by our record. 22 killed in one week is too low. I promise to do better,” the young Museveni wrote.
In others, Muhoozi directly targeted Bobi Wine and NUP supporters, vowing to eliminate them and only Museveni’s intervention will spare them.
“We will kill on sight all NUP so called ‘Foot Soldiers’. Until Mzee says otherwise. We have killed 22 NUP terrorists since last week. I’m praying the 23rd is Kabobi.”
He also referred to Bobi Wine using derogatory language and insults, while in another post, he mocked the opposition leader.
“Defeating a BABOON is expected. The guy’s nose is too big to be human. I’m going to have fun breaking this fool to pieces,” he added.
The remarks came shortly after Museveni was declared the winner with 7,946,772 votes against Bobi Wine’s 2,741,238 votes.
Bobi Wine, Museveni’s closest rival in the race, has disputed the election’s conduct and claimed that security forces were after him.
How netizens reacted to Muhoozi’s remarks
Online reaction to Muhoozi’s posts was swift and scathing, with most calling the military chief to order for his latest remarks.
Others warned of the broader implications, arguing that celebrating killings and labelling opponents as terrorists amounted to criminal incitement that placed civilians at risk.

Did soldiers raid Bobi Wine’s home?
Elsewhere, Bobi Wine claimed that security forces raided his Magere residence in central Uganda on the night of Friday, January 16.
He said police and military officers stormed the home, cut the electricity, and interfered with surveillance cameras as helicopters circled overhead.
The National Unity Platform leader stated that he managed to flee during the operation but left his family behind.
