While their parents are physically safe, they are now facing a parent’s worst nightmare in a foreign country. They are grappling with medical expenses, funeral expenses, as well as travel and support.

“The costs associated with an international tragedy are overwhelming; we are asking for the community’s help,” said Maina on the GoFundMe page.

The family has since set up a GoFundMe page with a target of KSh 9 million, and so far, they have raised KSh 8.5 million.

How can Kenyans and Americans help?

Back in the US, the school and community painfully mourned the three siblings as well, and while announcing the deaths, they also encouraged community to help Wambui Ndirangu and Christopher during this difficult time.

“Please consider donating to their family, and if you’re unable to, please help by sharing this link,” said Hoover Middle School, where two of the siblings attended school.

Family of Kenyan mum who died in US seeks help

In another story, the family of Victoria Njeri Njoroge, who died in the USA, was pleading for urgent support to bring her body back home for burial.

They shared that the US brought her nothing but hardship instead of the greener pastures that she was looking for. Vicky spent years fighting to reunite with her son, but lost her life in a tragic truck collision just when there was hope of getting him.

The family is now determined that her final resting place will be here in Kenya, and they do not have time on their hands to make it happen.
