His family’s financial backing has allowed the president’s son, aptly nicknamed GK, to invest in businesses he is passionate about. TUKO.co.ke listed four businesses that he is publicly known to own.
1. George Ruto’s matatu business

George is passionate about Nairobi’s vibrant matatu culture and has invested in the transport industry. He currently owns four known PSVs operating under the Raptor Family name.
The name is derived from his first matatu, Raptor, which is currently undergoing renovations.
However, George first made a splash with his Money Fest matatu, initially running on the Ngong route before relocating to Ongata Rongai and finally settling in Embakasi.
He later purchased Matrix, which quickly became one of the hottest matatus in Nairobi. George cemented his reputation as an investor by debuting Mood, a game-changing matatu with 25 seats, featuring a DJ booth and solar panels.
2. George Ruto’s sports company
The president previously spoke about George’s strong passion for football, highlighting his advocacy for increased investment in the country’s sports sector. As part of his commitment, George is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management in London.
George is involved in a sports-related venture called 82 Sports, which utilises multiple business models. One of their key activities is content creation, with the team recently travelling to Morocco for the African Cup of Nations.
The company also produces content focused on local football teams.
In addition, 82 Sports is involved in organising tournaments and offers sportswear solutions, including uniforms, practice gear, and team apparel, catering to the needs of various football teams.
3. George Ruto’s sports academy

George’s Jamhuri Soccer Academy, founded in 2021, has quickly established itself as a hub for developing young football talent.
The academy offers training for a range of age groups, from Under 7 to Under 20, with its senior team competing in the National Division Two League.
The academy aims to prepare players not only for success on the field but also in their everyday lives.
The academy’s Instagram following has grown to over 1,300, while its Facebook page has nearly 1,000 followers.
4. George Ruto’s clothing brand

Tisap Threads is a clothing brand linked to George.
“Inspired by the heart of Kenya. Bold, beautiful, and protected,” the motto goes.
According to the website, Tisap sells crop tops, boxers, hoodies, and t-shirts, among other items, at affordable prices.
For instance, the hoodies cost around KSh 2,500, with the tops starting at KSh 2,000. Notably, Tisap is the official kit sponsor of Jamhuri Soccer Academy.
Is George Ruto a pilot?
Aside from his business ventures, George is a pilot.
He recently posted a thrilling video of himself piloting a helicopter, showcasing his skills in the air.
One particular clip, offering an aerial view of the Talanta Stadium’s construction, caught the eye of many people who admired his flying expertise.
