The baby, later named David, was rushed to Narok Hospital, where he was admitted for three days before being transferred to Naomi’s Village in Mai Mahiu near Mount Longonot.
Weeks later, Provera says he received a call from Mr Allan Dowson, Helen Dowson and officials from Naomi’s Village, who were involved in documenting David’s story.
“My only disappointment is that there was an agreement I would receive a copy of the documentary, but I’ve never seen it,” Provera lamented.
How David looks at 10 years
Now, more than 10 years on, Provera continues to reflect on David’s journey from near tragedy to hope, celebrating the child’s growth and progress since 2016 to the present day.
He shared photos showing the chronology of events and how the young boy progressed through the different stages of life.
David has grown into a bubbly youngster, a stark contrast to the frail infant Provera rescued a decade ago from imminent death.
The youngster’s new look is a powerful reminder of compassion, faith and the life-changing impact of a single act of kindness.
