Despite claims that her former husband called on others to join in the confrontation, she recalls that community members refused, expressing respect and sympathy instead.

She described the situation as both humiliating and heartbreaking, especially given the solemnity of the funeral taking place only a short distance away.

In the emotional message, Naomi paid tribute to the deceased, saying she attended the funeral out of respect and left peacefully to avoid further conflict.

“I was invited by my father-in-law to attend the funeral and buy a suit for the departed even if I’m separated from my ex. I wouldn’t have come if they told me not to come,” she explained.

Naomi denies ex-husband’s accusations

She also expressed forgiveness towards the community, while announcing her decision to sever ties with her in-laws, calling the episode the final breaking point in a long and difficult chapter of her life.

“You can forget this beautiful face of mine because you’ll never see it again,” she said.

Reached for comment, Naomi told TUKO.co.ke that the incident caught her by surprise because she didn’t expect her ex to behave like he did.

According to her, the ex-husband once accused her of planning to end his life while in the US yet he still visited her house with his current wife and she cooked for them.

“If I had such plans, why did he trust me to come over with my replacement to my house during Thanksgiving?” she questioned.

How Naomi’s marriage crumbled

Naomi’s marriage fell apart shortly after she relocated to the US with her three children, contrary to the American Dream she had first envisioned.

She blamed the collapse on emotional turmoil, marital disloyalty, and intense struggles that pushed her to the brink.

This is after the man she had built a life alongside started displaying troubling behaviour before moving in with another woman, just outside the peaceful confines of their compound.

Instead of letting the difficult start stifle her dreams, she rose to become a revered businesswoman in New York and one of the most inspirational Kenyan immigrant voices in the US.
