Cunha came off the bench to score the winning goal in the 87th minute to hand Arsenal their first defeat in front of their home fans this season.
Lisandro Martinez’s own goal set the ball rolling for what looked like a routine Arsenal win, but United responded quickly through Bryan Mbeumo. Patrick Dorgu fired the Red Devils ahead after the break, but Mikel Merino restored parity later on.
What did Cunha say after scoring against Arsenal?
Then, against the run of play, Cunha let fly from way out to win the game for the visitors, sparking frenzied scenes from the players and the away end.

It is what happened afterwards that could land the Brazilian in trouble. As Manchester Evening News reports, Cunha swore at the cameras, with Sky Sports commentator Peter Drury forced to apologise immediately.
“If you heard some bad language among the celebrations, for that we apologise.”
Why Matheus Cunha could be banned
It is not clear what the 26-year-old said, but it included an explicit term which contravenes Football Association rules. Chapter 12 of the rules states that “offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures” will result in a player being sent off.
It also states that the governing body retains the right to hand disciplinary action if the incident is caught on camera and broadcast to a wider audience.
Manchester United’s legend Wayne Rooney was found guilty of the same offence in 2011, when he was handed a two-match suspension.
United’s next games are against Fulham and Tottenham.

Michael Carrick praises Matheus Cunha
Meanwhile, United’s head coach, Michael Carrick, had nothing but high praise for the former Wolves striker.
“Fantastic finish. He epitomises what, as a group, we’ve been like this week. He has not started both games, but he’s had a real big impact. He’s been disappointed not to start, but he’s used that in a really good way. Two huge moments, and he totally deserves that winning goal for the way he has applied himself all week. I’m absolutely delighted for him,” he said via Manchester United’s website.
