Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as Shonge Sinalinga.

How did Sinalinga die?

According to police, Sinalinga checked into the guest house on January 24 at around 3 pm in the company of a 50-year-old woman, Pamela Chiwala, who is also from Luanshya.

Yuyi explained that the deceased had earlier complained about poor air circulation in the room, Nkani reports.

Later, guest house staff became concerned and alerted the receptionist, who was subsequently informed that a man had collapsed inside the room.

Upon entering, staff reportedly found Sinalinga lying on his back and unclothed. He was later dressed by male employees at the facility.

Where is Chiwala being held?

A distressed Chiwala attempted to leave before being stopped by staff members who then reported the matter to Masaiti Police Station.

Police say a preliminary inspection of the body revealed no visible signs of physical injury.

The body has since been taken to St Theresa’s Mission Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, Chiwala is being held at Masaiti Police Station as investigations continue. Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation as police work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
