“Those are mostly the states that go on strike often and have high-paying rates. Currently, New York is still ongoing for weeks, and rates have gone up to KSh 21,000 per hour.

In California, the strike pay is between KSh 14,000 and KSh 17,000 per hour, depending on the agency with which you are onboarded.”

Judy then said that in California, working over eight hours is considered overtime.

“Another area with high rates is Concierge Nursing, especially in California. My private clients pay between KSh 10,000 and KSh 14,000 per hour. Some require 24hr live-in, which means you can make over KSh 320,000 in a single day.”

Judy noted that the key is knowing where the money is.

“Let’s go and get the money as we take good care of our patients with passion and love. But making over a million in a week is every reason I keep encouraging nurses in Kenya to come here.
