“I have a lot of pain. My daughter cannot come back even if the suspect is arrested or killed. She cannot come back to life again. I will never ever see Muthoni again. Her life has just ended like that. She was still very young. She was very obedient and now she is no more. I have lost a young child. I have lost a daughter who had a vision of going far,” she painfully disclosed.
Who killed Ann Muthoni Ngunjiri?
Muthoni had allegedly been in an on-and-off romantic relationship with the GSU officer and alleged perpetrator, identified as Benson Mutiso.
Neighbours said the suspect pursued Muthoni to her house in Mihang’o estate, where he allegedly assaulted and killed her, tragically ending their relationship in cold blood.
He later locked her body inside the house and vanished under the cover of darkness before the body was discovered the following day.
Muthoni’s body was found soaked in a pool of blood as her shattered family appealed for justice for their loved one.
“Perhaps she was given something or force was used. Whatever the suspect did to her was barbaric. I think my daughter had refused to marry him, but he was forcing it. No screams or cries for help were heard from the house by neighbours. He just killed her and put the house keys where they usually keep them,” Wanjiku shared.

Despite the suspect being identified, the family claimed the police have done little to pursue and arrest the culprit, who is still on the run.
The police insisted investigations were ongoing and at an advanced stage as they plan to bring the suspect to book.
“We found he was one of the staff at the GSU training school. He had absconded from duty for the last 10 to 20 days. We are looking for him,” Kayole police commander John Owuoth said.
