The court heard that it all began on the evening of June 22, 2025, when Nyandwaro was driving a tractor-trailer northbound through Woolwich Township.
He became involved in an aggressive confrontation with another lorry driver, Osman Aden, 40, of Minnesota. What began as a dispute on the highway ended in tragedy.
How dashcam sealed Nyandwaro’s fate
According to prosecutors and New Jersey State Police, witnesses saw Nyandwaro repeatedly block Aden from overtaking him.
Dash camera footage later confirmed that Nyandwaro deliberately rammed Aden’s tractor-trailer, forcing it into the concrete barrier on the left side of the road.
The impact sent Aden’s vehicle careering out of control. He was killed at the scene. Aden’s death devastated his family and fellow drivers, many of whom described him as a hardworking man.
In court, his loss was framed not just as a traffic fatality, but as the irreversible consequence of anger allowed to escalate at speed.
Nyandwaro laughed after accident
The case took a darker turn when investigators recovered video from inside Nyandwaro’s cab, which captured the moment of impact, and recorded Nyandwaro laughing as he drove away from the scene.

It remains unclear whether he knew immediately that the other driver had died, but authorities said he made no attempt to stop or call for help.
Instead, Nyandwaro left the Turnpike, rejoined it more than an hour later, and continued his journey.
Police later found that his truck appeared to have been altered in an effort to disguise its involvement in the crash.

How long is Nyandwaro’s sentence?
Investigators said he attempted to conceal damage using duct tape and cleaning materials, and initially lied to his employer about being involved at all.
It was the trucking company’s cooperation with police, including handing over dash camera footage, that helped investigators track Nyandwaro’s movements and confirm what had happened.
He surrendered to authorities days later.
Under a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped additional charges, including leaving the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with evidence in exchange for Nyandwaro’s guilty plea.
They agreed on a six-year sentence, which he will be required to serve at least 85% of that term before becoming eligible for parole.
