Manchester City were the biggest winners of the round, coming from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield Stadium on Sunday evening.

Dominik Szoboszlai fired the hosts in front with a beautiful free-kick in the 74th minute before Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland scored to turn the game around for the visitors. There was drama in stoppage time after Rayan Cherki’s goal was disallowed and Szoboszlai was sent off in the same sequence of play.

It was paramount for Pep Guardiola’s side to win the game to cut the gap between them and Arsenal to six points after the Gunners whitewashed Sunderland 3-0 on Saturday.

“I feel the whole team knew before the game that if we lost, then probably the title race was over. We felt like we needed to win the game. That puts us a bit closer. The hope is there. We’re going to fight until the end. Six points are still six points. We’re happy, but we need to keep doing our job,” said Silva to the club’s website.

Opta has now predicted who will win the Premier League, with Arsenal now handed an overwhelming 91.41% chance to win the title.

“Nothing, we still have to win so many games to achieve what we want. So, there’s no focus on that; that’s something else. We’ve done our job now, we’ve had what we have to do, so I assess that, try to improve it and get ready for Brentford. If the other ones get better, we need to get better.” said Arteta when asked about the gap.

Manchester City are further back with 7.09%, while Aston Villa, who until recently were also contenders, now have a 1.36% chance. Unai Emery’s side have failed to win their last two games.

Chelsea and high-flying Manchester United have been projected to finish in the top five and get the Champions League places.

Up next for Arsenal will be Brentford away, while Manchester City host Fulham.

Why was Szoboszlai sent off against Manchester City?

In another report, Dominik Szoboszlai was given a bizarre red card against Manchester City after Rayan Cherki’s goal was disallowed.

Cherki thought he had scored City’s third goal, but the game was returned to Haaland and Szoboszlai, jostling with the latter getting sent off for denial of a goal-scoring opportunity.

He will now miss one game against Sunderland on Wednesday.
