A family has been thrown into mourning following the death of their relative at her home in Gwafu village, Goma Division, Mukono District, Uganda.

Pamela Tumwebaze was attacked and brutally killed by unknown assailants, leaving her family in despair as they seek justice.

When did Pamela Tumwebaze die?

Police were alerted to the murder and arrived at the deceased’s home, where a thorough investigation was launched as officers examined the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Rachael Kawala noted that there were no signs of forced entry as investigators probed how the suspects accessed the home.

Uganda Christian University (UCU), where Pamela worked as the Dean of Students, broke the news on social media.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pamela Tumwebaze, the Director of Student Affairs and a member of the Uganda Christian University (UCU) senior management. She went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Please uphold her children, immediate family and loved ones in prayer. Further details will be shared,” the post read.

What was Pamela Tumwebaze’s last sermon?

Before her death on Tuesday night, February 10, Pamela addressed students during a community worship service held at Nkoyoyo Hall, where she was the keynote speaker.

A video of her sermon later emerged, in which she spoke on the theme, “Your Role in Building Healthy Relationships.”

At the beginning of her sermon, she shared that she was a mother of two sons aged 13 and 9.

Pamela was remembered as an educator and a beacon of kindness, compassion, and strength after her life was cut short by thugs.

Netizens mourn Pamela Tumwebaze

Social media users flocked to the comment sections to share emotional tributes as they mourned her death.

Aber Susan Mildred wrote:

Maseno University student found dead

Closer home, in a similar story, a Maseno University student was found dead in her residence in Kisumu county.

Dorcah Mogaka was discovered lifeless in her hostel, with questions arising about the cause of her death as her family sought justice.

Her heartbroken comrades expressed their grief online, sharing moving messages after the disturbing news.
