The footage captured frightening scenes of an alleged group of criminals harassing a man identified as James Kariuki Mwangi.
He was violently manhandled by the men, who attacked and beat him, leaving him with severe injuries that later led to his death.
The incident took place around 2:30am, when even Mwangi’s cries could not command attention or help from neighbours.
Geoffrey Mosiria seeks justice for Mwangi
“I strongly request and call upon the Inspector General of Police to urgently intervene and ensure that the criminals who attacked and killed this man are swiftly arrested and brought to justice. How do we allow criminals who are even known and clearly captured on CCTV to walk freely as if nothing happened, as if no life was lost? This cannot be normal. This cannot be acceptable. Such acts of violence must not be tolerated. The family deserves justice, and the public deserves safety and accountability,” Customer Service Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria said.
The clip showed the moment Mwangi was surrounded by the men, who pushed him from side to side as though there was an issue.
One man tried to intervene but could not do much as the three attackers escalated the matter and assaulted the helpless Mwangi.
They pushed him to a darker area where the camera could not fully capture what was happening, though it recorded parts of the attack as they beat him.

Which hospital was James Kariuki rushed to?
A family member who shared the video with Mosiria disclosed that Mwangi, his nephew, was attacked by well-known people.
“We took him to Kiambu Government Hospital and later to St Bridget’s, where he was found to have internal bleeding in the head. A head surgery was done on Friday night, December 26, but unfortunately, he succumbed on Saturday, December 27. The case was reported at Gatongora Police Station and DCI Ruiru,” he said.
However, the family member noted that the culprits were still walking free, as no action had been taken since then, with the family appealing for justice.
Mwangi left behind a young family, including two sons and one daughter, whose photo was also shared during their father’s burial.
