But the fraternity at Minya Primary School where she has dedicated years of teaching had other plans as the leadership insisted that their thanksgiving in her honour take place at the school, marking the profound impact she has had on generations of students.

She disclosed that they went to the retirement party prepared with stationery, gifts, and even a completed facility to donate to the school.
However, nothing could have prepared them for the love, warmth, and generosity that poured in from teachers, parents, students, the church, and the community.
“The outpouring was remarkable. From cows to foodstuffs, kitchen equipment, and countless gifts, the offerings reflected the deep respect and gratitude for a woman who has touched so many lives,” the celebrity events planner said.
Why Maryl Achieng was loved by school community
Beyond material gifts, it was the heartfelt testimonies about Madam NyaJohn’s influence that truly stood out, how she taught cookery, cleanliness, entrepreneurship, the values of being a good wife, and above all, the heart of giving.
In a symbolic gesture, the family chose a mabati classroom at the school to renovate in her honour, ensuring that her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Aseno described witnessing her mother’s impact as a living embodiment of Proverbs 31, a model of virtue, kindness, and generosity.
“May God bless and be with you, NyaJohn,” she concluded, a sentiment echoed by the countless lives her mother has touched over the years.
