Sichenje has arguably been the most talked about Kenyan player since he moved to England’s second-division from the Serbian league.

In a country where only Victor Wanyama has played in the Premier League and only a handful of others in the top European leagues, Sichenje’s move was as big as it gets.

After being left on the bench for three games by head coach Nathan Jones, the former AFC Leopards defender was finally given his chance on Saturday, playing almost the entire game against the Saints in the country’s South Coast.

“It’s a good club with a good project, and I’m ready to start working. It’s a big step for my career. It’s a good opportunity to keep working, developing and helping the team, so I just need to be humble and keep working – that’s the goal,” he said when he signed.
