Speaking in a video shared by Kameme TV, a family member said that they came at night and vandalised the car, and when they woke up, they found it that way.
“We went inside to check if my sister was okay and found them unconscious. They had been drugged into a deep sleep, and so we had to rush them to the hospital. They are now okay,” said a family member.
“This vehicle was a new model, KSh 35 million. We woke up to find the entire vehicle vandalised, and everything gone. I have never seen this,” said another family member.
Why did Kirinyaga locals think ‘professionals’ did it?
The locals suspect that the act was done by professionals since they were meticulous.
At 12:40pm we entered the house to sleep, and after a few minutes I saw people in the house, and I fought with them until they showed me a gun.
How did Kenyans react to the story?
@francismuiruri6264:
“Yaani kwa hii wakati kuna mtu ananunua gari ya KSh 35 million .”
@Rachel-c1t6z:
“Oh my and we have people with no food, KSh 35 million? Kenyans are rich.”
@ruthn9381:
“CCTV hakuna.?”
@pristinendungu2231:
“I am surprised KSh 35 million gari moja; the thieves should be brought to book.”
@maryjones3523:
“Oh my goodness…Kenya put cameras in your house and electric fences. This is real poverty at the highest level…poleni sana.”
@leahgituku3035:
“Uzuri, hawakuua mtu anaeza buy ingine but pole.”
@stivinimuguruki1769:

@MaryMungai-jw1uc:
“Kama umesota umesota peke yako, usije ukasemea mwenzako, alar.”
@maryjones3523:
“Maybe next time you buy such vehicles,… put high functioning alarms that will alert the police, coz that’s not a cheap vehicle or an alarm that will not stop making noise. How come you have such a vehicle and don’t have an electrical fence wire and machine guns.”

CCTV footage shows car being stolen
In another story, a woman who parked a car outside a Thika church was stunned when she got out at 2pm and found that it was nowhere to be seen.
The lady called her son and asked him if he had picked up the car he bought for her, but he declined and said that he was using his car.
When there was an alleged laxity in handling the car case, the man followed up using CCTV, and the men were later arrested.
