The family of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johanna Ng’eno is struggling to come to terms with his sudden death.

The late MP lost his life alongside several associates after the helicopter they were travelling in crashed and burst into flames in the Chepkiep Forest in Mosop, Nandi County.

Ng’eno had been assisting in a search and rescue mission for two individuals swept away by floodwaters in the Mara River area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the helicopter, piloted by veteran aviator George Were, initially landed outside the forest due to poor weather and low visibility.

After allegedly consulting locals, the pilot attempted to take off again, but the aircraft crashed shortly afterwards.

Authorities have launched an inquest into the accident, with a preliminary report expected within 30 days.

How did Ng’eno’s mother react to his death?

The late MP is survived by his wife, Nayia Ntutu, sister to Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, and their two young children.

While the family was seen publicly during the first burial committee meeting at their Nairobi home, Ng’eno’s mother, Mama Mary Temas, had not yet appeared publicly.

Photos shared online captured sombre scenes at the MP’s rural home, showing his elderly mother mourning his sudden demise.

In one heartbreaking moment, Governor Ole Ntutu was seen comforting her as she wept, wiping tears from her eyes with a shawl.
