Vyner lasted for 76 minutes as his side put on a gallant show to force the game into extra time after a 2-2 draw in normal time.

Alejandro Garnacho and Joao Pedro scored in extra time to derail a Hollywood upset, but Wrexham gave a good account of themselves either way.

“Of course, the dressing room is quiet, which you’d expect after a defeat. But when we wake up tomorrow, I think the lads can be immensely proud, and the supporters will be, of the way we’ve played. It certainly won’t knock us tonight, because we will take the positives of the evening, without doubt,” said head coach Phil Parkinson via the club’s website.
