“They pushed him into the car, and he hurt his back. They are saying he gave false information regarding his whereabouts. An arrest must be humane. That was not an arrest. Were it not for our presence, we would have been talking about something else,” he said while emphasising that Tuju had experienced a very bad accident three years ago.
The lawyers have invited doctors from the Karen Hospital to advise them as they wait for an OB entry at the station.
Ndegwa shared a clip of Tuju groaning in pain and holding his back after the ‘police pushed him into a Subaru.’

Did Kalonzo Musyoka condemn Raphael Tuju’s arrest?
Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka also criticised authorities for the manner in which the politician was arrested.
He stated that he personally drove Tuju to Karen Police Station to record a statement but was shocked by the events that followed.
“Hours ago, police and DCI officers surrounded and barricaded Raphael Tuju’s home, refusing to let anyone leave until they had him. I personally drove him to Karen Police Station to record a statement in good faith, in the spirit of due process. What followed was unacceptable. Tuju was carried away in a manner that no Kenyan, indeed no human being, should ever experience,” he alleged.
Kalonzo stated that he, DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, former attorney general Justin Muturi, Senator Dan Maanzo, Prof. PLO Lumumba, Njiru, and other leaders would not leave the station after witnessing the ordeal unfold.
“We are not leaving,” he affirmed.
