Mary Claire, a 24-year-old woman who was attacked with acid, is still undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The young singer, who performs in a Seventh-day Adventist choir in Nairobi, was reportedly heading home from work when the incident happened.
What happened to Mary Claire?
The suspect, identified as Lukas Ochieng’, allegedly claimed Claire’s ex-boyfriend had sent him to carry out the attack. Authorities have since arrested both suspects.

In a video that has surfaced on social media, her ex’s choir members, the Heavenly Echoes Ministers, were seen visiting her at the hospital.
They stood next to her bed and were seen worshipping to uplift Claire. They captioned the video:
“Heavenly Father, we pray for divine healing touch every heart, renew every mind, and restore every body. Lord, let Your healing light shine upon every pain and turn it into peace.”
The Light House Ministers Nairobi also released a statement condemning the act.

The individual allegedly involved has been suspended from ministry activities pending investigations and legal proceedings.

In other news, the young woman spoke when former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko visited her in the hospital.
Sonko has been a firm fighter against gender-based violence, and he assured Claire of his support.
He promised to cover the hospital bills and provide what was needed for her to regain her life.
Claire admitted that she had a good night’s rest, although she had trouble with one eye.
