Nairobi – National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has officially announced the demise of Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho.

Where did David Kiaraho die?
In his statement, Wetang’ula disclosed that Kiaraho passed away a few minutes past 1am on Sunday, March 29, at The Nairobi Hospital.

“It is with profound sorrow that I hereby notify members of the National Assembly and the entire parliamentary fraternity of the untimely demise of the member of Ol Kalou, the late David Njuguna Kiaraho, who passed away today, Sunday, March 29, at around twenty minutes past 1am while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital,” Wetang’ula announced.
In his communication, the speaker appointed nine MPs led by Kinangop MP Kwenya Thuku to the funeral preparation committee.
“On behalf of all members of staff of the National Assembly, and indeed on my own behalf, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Kiaraho. In this regard, I have appointed members to the Funeral Preparation Committee to laise with the family and coordinate a befitting send-off for the late Kiaraho. The team will be led by Member of Kinangop, the Hon. Kwenya Thuku, assisted by the Member of Nyandarua, Faith Gitau, and seven other Hon. Members. Further details on this matter will be communicated in due course,” he said.
The late MP, born on October 2, 1963, was a trained architect and a graduate of the University of Nairobi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
Before entering politics, he built a successful professional career and served as principal architect at Archgrid Systems, where he contributed to major infrastructure and built environment projects.
Kiaraho, who was first elected in the 2013 general elections, was serving in key parliamentary committees at the time of his death.
“Until his untimely demise, the late Kiaraho served the National Assembly with diligence and commitment as a Member of the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee,” Wetang’ula said.
