The journalist who was acquitted in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani has fallen in love again.
Perhaps her most widely publicised relationship is one she was involved in with Jowie Irungu. The two became engaged in June 2018.

Their story took a dark turn when they were both arrested in connection with the murder of Monica.
The mother of one shared an adorable photo of a screenshot she took with her husband, whom she labelled as Mr K.
In 2025, she explicitly stated that she is single. This followed social media activity in late 2023, where she changed her status to Mrs, sparking rumours of a secret marriage that she later dismissed as clout-chasing headlines.
In January, the journalist declared that she was not looking for an ordinary love, saying that she wanted a challenging love story.
“I am not the girl you get at the end of a movie. I am the scriptwriter. The executive producer. The camera person and the main star. I am the movie. A Mrs K production. I don’t want normal, and easy, and simple… I want painful, difficult, devastating, life-changing, extraordinary love,” she wrote.
In her new post, Maribe admitted that she was the ‘worst person’ when she was in love with her husband. She wrote:
“I’m really the worst person when in love with my husband, my dawa Mr K.”
