On April 1, 2026, Wandia sent her mother WhatsApp messages, comically informing her that she was pregnant and that her lover would visit during the Easter holiday.
In the messages shared on TikTok, the Kenyan lady said that the baby would be a blessing to her, but her mum would have none of it, reminding her that taking care of a child was a big responsibility.
” Come again? I don’t want these jokes. Do you know the cost of raising a child?” Wandia’s mum asked her with a crying emoji.

The mum questioned why Wandia had been impregnated by a guy who could not buy her airtime for a phone call.
“If he can’t buy your airtime, can he take care of you while pregnant?” she asked, with a serious tone.
Wandia continued to play along, telling her mum to prepare to welcome her suitor this weekend for an introductory meeting.
“Tell him I am not ready to become a mother-in-law. Bado sijafikisha 40. Have you told him that I smoke bangi,” she responded, adding that she would inform her husband about Wandia’s pregnancy.

Seemingly relieved, the mother asked Wandia why she had pulled such a prank on her, yet she has blood pressure.
She jokingly said she would block Wandia for the prank.
Kenyans react to pregnancy prank
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the young woman said she could not predict how her mother would react when she decided to play the prank on her.
“I’d say that I didn’t expect that reaction, given she’s an African parent. But I’m older now, and she’s still caring like a small girl. It was fun joking around with her, and it brings joy, actually, to the whole family because she shared it with my father and my small brothers,” she said.
